Patients who are missing several consecutive teeth may consider a dental bridge. A dental bridge is a dental restoration designed to replace missing teeth that is fabricated to match your teeth with a natural looking smile.
Dr. Dham commonly recommends that patients secure their dental bridge using dental implants for a more secure, and lasting result.
A comprehensive oral health checkup can help Dr. Dham determine which missing tooth replacement option will offer a patient optimal results. For patients who choose a dental bridge, Dr. Dham will explain the procedure in detail so that they fully understand their treatment plan.
The Dental Bridge Process
Patients who are to receive a removable dental bridge will have their adjacent teeth prepared. A substantial amount of tooth enamel is removed from the healthy teeth to allow room for the bridge.
Once the teeth are prepared, Dr. Dham will take digital images of the area to create a 3-D model used to design the final restoration.
If patients choose to secure their bridge with dental implants, Dr. Dham will coordinate the surgical phase of treatment. Implants will be left to heal for 3-6 months before the patient is fit with their final restoration.
Dr. Dham will work with the patient to custom design a dental restoration that will fit securely and look as natural as possible. Westside Dental Center uses the most modern, life-like dental materials to create a restoration that will be barely distinguishable from the patient’s natural teeth.
