Invisalign® What to Expect
Dr. Dham provides personalized dental health exams and bite analysis to determine if Invisalign will provide you with your desired results. Invisalign is designed to gradually shift teeth into alignment through a series of custom aligners.
The entire process can take anywhere from 11 months to 2 years. This will depend on the severity of your misalignment issues.
Invisalign Process
The first step is to determine if you are the right candidate for Invisalign. We will evaluate your oral health and determine the best option for your unique smile. If we conclude that you are the right fit for clear aligners, Dr. Dham will create a 3-D model of your teeth and gums using digital technology.
This model will be used to create a “blueprint” for your custom series of aligners. Next, we will send that model to Invisalign to create your clear aligners. The number of aligners required will vary from patient-to-patient. It is determined based on the degree of malocclusion and the complexity of your orthodontic concerns.
Each set of aligners is worn in approximately 2-week intervals. Each consecutive set of aligners will gradually shift teeth further into proper alignment. Most patients will wear their Invisalign aligners for up to one year. Dr. Dham will discuss your exact duration of treatment based on your orthodontic needs.
